Carrot Chowder

1 pound ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
2 cans of cream of celery soup
3 cups tomato juice
1 cup water
2 cups grated carrots
2 large grated potatoes
1 bay leaf
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder or salt
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 beef bullion cubes

Brown beef and onion, then drain fat. Add celery soup, tomato juice, water, carrots, potatoes, bay leaf, garlic salt, bullion cubes, and brown sugar. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 20 minutes.
